Order a hug today and watch the good things flow!

Zipping through the gym locker room, I caught a glimpse of this CBS news segment on the “hug deli”. Started by Mikey Stubbs in LA the hugs are given out in exchange for 2 compliments. Talk about a great way to spread joy, help our neighbors, and encourage positivity - and people who feel good live longer, so there are health benefits to this. What’s cool is that “hugs” can be viewed along a spectrum so while a big bear hug may work for one person, a high five may have the same impact for another.
First we had the gratitude dance, now we have hugs. Do you sense a theme? People are clearly starved for positive, uplifting moments in their day, even if from and with strangers.
It’s easier to stay positive, if the people around you are positive. So, if we tackle this as a community, if we start saying “enough… no more negativity” and help each other be more positive, we’ll all thrive in the end. All we each have to spare is a smile, hug, and at times, a silly dance.
